The Beatles in Time Square

I hope many of you are enjoying the Super Deluxe Revolver boxset as much as I have been!  A new  Beatles music release is always exciting!   Someone posted this awesome Beatles advertisement that is currently in Time Square!   I love that it is 2022 and The Beatles are still relevant.   I love these four photos from the "Butcher" photo session.   I especially like Ringo.

So if you find yourself in NYC soon, make sure to say "hi" to The Beatles.

The Sun and the Starr

Do you think Ringo cringes at these ads now?   He was a good spokesman -- just a shame he was living life as an alcoholic at the time.   Glad Ringo and Barb are now clean and healthy.

Happy Christmas to you all!

Here is wishing all of you a very Happy Christmas.    Thank you for sticking with me through my difficult year.     I hope to get the site back to the way I want it to be in 2020.    Best holiday wishes to all commenters, contributors, and lurkers of Meet the Beatles ... For Real.

From my collection....

If you have spent any time talking Beatles with me, you will quickly learn that I am sort of obsessed with the Beatles 1966 North American Tour.   I am trying to to overwhelm this blog with stuff, but I am so excited to share it all with you because I just love this tour.

In the past few years I have started collecting item specific to the Beatles 1966 North American tour.   I don't have a lot of items, but here are a few that pertain to the Chicago show.   An ad from the newspaper for the concert and a ticket stub for the evening show.   The ticket stub isn't really special because it is literally a stub---no Beatles mentioned on the part that is left or anything.  However, the fan that original attended the show wrote "Beatle concert" on the back, which I think is sweet.

Get Ready for the surprise underneath!

I can't begin to explain how happy I am that school is out for the summer!   It has been a very long school year and I am ready to relax and get things accomplished.    Sure I will still be doing things for my job as an elementary reading teacher, but at least I can do them on my own schedule.  Anyhow--this is an awesome ad from 50 years ago.    Little did the fans know that some of the covers have the Butcher album hidden underneath.

Abbey road on Sunset Strip

I just think this is really neat.  I have posted a photo of this 1969 Billboard for Abbey Road on Sunset Strip before, only Paul's head was missing.   Here it is before someone ripped it off.   I love how it doesn't say "The Beatles" or "Our new album, Abbey Road available now" or anything.   It is just simply the Beatles...no more to say!
