Bunny ears on the screen

This photo of a photo was taken at a talk singer Gary Wright (think Dream Weaver) gave about his friend, George Harrison.    The two of them wrote a song together in 1971.   During his talk, he shared many personal photographs with the audience, including some of him and George in India.   This photo is one that made its way to the interwebs and is Gary and George in the 1980's.

The Carl Perkins' fan club

This is something that part of the "Guitar Walk" in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.   I did not recall seeing that particular photo before and I had not read the story of the Beatles being in the Carl Perkin's fan club.

I love L.A.

John during the L.A. radio interview on September 20, 1974.    I just love finding photos from this time period!   Is the guy with him one of the D.J's ?

George and his Dad

These are some interesting George photos.   Does anyone have any information on them?

One large sign

Some fan worked really hard on this "We love you Beatles" sign!   I bet it got their attention.

John at Mendips

This is a "picture of a picture" that took while I was in Liverpool.    You can read the text yourself.   It is an interesting photo.

There are two photos, which I am including with this post that went up for sale on ebay in 2007.  They are pretty tiny, but were taken on the same day as this photo.

More of Paul's George photos

Wish the zoom was on!

Here are the rest of the photos I took while Paul was singing "Something" during the concert in St. Louis last month.   These are the ones that didn't turn out as well as the others, but I figured they were worth sharing.

Rare Abbey Road era photos

For me the best thing about the Paul McCartney concert that I went to last weekend besides the fact that I was in the same room as Paul McCartney, was seeing all of Paul's rare photos.   That man has a goldmine of photos and film!   Between the things he took while he was with the the Beatles and the things Linda took during the late Beatles time and during Wings....wow!    I told my mom to be on the lookout for rare Beatles photos flashing on the screen, especially when Paul sings "Something."   When Paul started to sing the song, I yelled out to her...."rare photos....now!"   And both of us started snapping our cameras away at the screen behind Paul.   I don't even really remember Paul singing the song or anything, because I was so concerned about the photos.  We both had our cameras set to take three photos in a row.   We got a lot of the rare stuff to share with you all.   Remember that these are very good photos because they were taken off a screen!   I tried to tweek them a little to make them a bit more viewable, but still they look like they are taken off a screen.  However....the still let you see some of the Abbey Road photos that Paul has tucked away....

Summer Holiday

Here is a photo I took off the screen during Freda Kelly's presentation at the Fest.   I am just as bad as the girls who took the photos off the T.V. screens and the movie screens.   I listened to a discussion for several minutes of the person who interviewed Freda trying to pinpoint the date of this photo.   I already knew the date (he was trying to make this 1962 and from Love me do...but then started looking at the Summer holiday poster and figured that movie came out in 1963...blah blah..someone should have just asked the audience if they knew!)  So anyhow, this photo was taken on January 24, 1963 at NEMS (not the regular NEMS but the smaller store).

All the world is birthday cake

There have been many photos of George celebrating his 21st birthday in 1964, but I just recently discovered what George was doing on his 22nd birthday in 1965. The lads were in the middle of making their 2nd film, Help! On Feb. 25th a birthday party was held at the El Greco Hotel in Nassau for George. The hotel's owner, a man named Nick was the personal chef for the Beatles during their stay and made this cake for George birthday. These photo are hanging in the hotel's lobby and were found on this blog. Here is remembering the life of George on what would have been his 69th birthday. As a person who is on a diet (lost 24 pounds since the first of the year woop woop!), I am going to take George's advice "all the world is birthday cake, so take a piece but not too much."

a picture of a picture

I took this photo at the Hard Day's Night Bed and Breakfast in Benton, Illinois (the house where Louise used to live and George stayed there for 3 weeks in the late summer of 1963). I wish I knew more about this photo. Where was it taken? What year?? My guess is in New York in 1977 or 1978. Too bad there wasn't an explaination next to the photo.

Edit:  This photo was taken in 1980, which surprised me to learn because John was seen wearing that hat a lot during 1977-78.
