Paul's waterfalls

In the late 1970s and 1980s Paul McCartney and his family lived in a circular house called "Waterfalls."   He has not been there since 2002 and while it is believed that he still owns the property, it has not been kept up.   People that go into abandoned places and take video and photographs have gone into Waterfalls and have taken some photographs of  this beautiful property.

Ringo sells Brookfield

This article came from a Dutch magazine.   I translated it the best that I could.    It is a funny article because you think it is going to be about Ringo selling his home, but it seems more like a real estate advertisement!

Ringo Starr from landowner to city citizen

Ringo Starr is currently the least controversial but, by contrast, the most popular of the four Beatles. This is mainly thanks to his activities in the field of film and, in particular, his role in alongside Peter Sellers in the film "The Magic Christian".  These film activities, however, are also the reason why Ringo lives in the fantastic estate that he had just bought from Peter Sellers and will sell again.

Brookfield, as the estate is called, is so far from London that Ringo can no longer combine the  vast task of a landowner with his rapidly expanding work as an actor. And since these latter activities are the most important for him at the moment, Brookfield has to be sold. But Ringo is at heart.
Understandably, because this estate is a real gem. The country house dates back to the 16th century, but has been modernized and expanded. It has three large salons, four bedrooms with attached bathroom, an extremely modern kitchen and central heating in every room. In addition, there is a home cinema, a sauna, a garage that seats five cars and a stable for six horses. On the estate, which is bordered by the Wey River, is a true paradise for anglers, we find a pond, enchanting beautiful gardens and vineyards and an extensive forest.

All in all, you will be able to imagine that Ringo does not like leaving this fantastic estate, and once he has to sell it, he deserves a great deal  of money for  it.   Almost 100,000 must bring it!  For Ringo, the rustic existence of a landowner  must be exchanged for the hottest life in the London city.  He once again wandered in and across the beautiful Brookfield. Our photographer followed him and while Ringo explained his goodbye to the countryside and his estate

Friar Park pre-George

This was the gates of Friar Park in the late 1960's right before George moved in.   So this is what it looked like when George first saw the property and purchased it.  Notice that the "gates" aren't even up to keep people out?   George (and Pattie too for that matter) did a LOT of work on the property to fix it up.    It is so neat to see this old photo of the place.

Kinfauns pool

This fan photo (which unfortunately covered in watermarks) was taken at the pool at George home, Kinfauns. What I think is neat about it is that you can see John's art very nicely and you can also see the trellis where Pattie took a very well-known photo of her and George. It sort of puts things into perspective for me.

Don't go chasing Waterfalls

I want to send out a big thank you to Guus (again!) for sending me these photos of Paul that were taken by a fan at his East Sussex home, Waterfalls. A while back I had posted some cropped photos from this set that were said to have been from Cavendish. Now that I can see the entire set, I see that they are not. Does anyone know who the fan in the photos happens to be? I think I have seen him in other fan photos with John or George.

More of Round Hill

There was such a nice response from the photo I posted last week of Ringo's home in London called "Round Hill" that I decided to post the other photo I have of this home. This is taken from Carolyn Mitchell's book All Our Loving. I would guess that the girl in the photo is Carolyn herself.

Round Hill

This was Ringo's home from late 1969 until he and Maureen split up in the 1970's. I have never seen a fan photo of this house before.

A visit to Liverpool

This photo from the 1960's really made me smile. Here is a Beatles fan standing outside Ringo's childhood home in Dingle (Liverpool). I saw this home from the street, but I wasn't able to get out of the bus and stand by the door like this fan is doing. However I did do the exact same thing at John and Paul's childhood homes. Fans have been standing outside of Beatles childhood homes in Liverpool for over 40 years and it isn't going to stop anytime soon!

Beatles homes

Paul Cavendish Ave. home in London
If you were a Beatles fan in the 1960's and the Beatles weren't around (maybe they were in Greece or India) what would you most likely do? Take pictures of their house! And that is what we have here. Fan photos from the Beatles era of the Beatles homes during the time.
