Are you excited?

I cannot explain how excited I am to see "Get Back."   Barely anyone in my "real life" seem to understand my excitement.   "What are you doing over Thanksgiving break?"   I want to yell "What do you think I'm doing!"   I am sure that you are just as excited.   Footage of the Beatles that we have never seen before!

In light of Thanksgiving and Get Back, I am going to take a brief break from this site for the rest of the week, although I might share a few Thanksgiving-themed photos on Thursday.

What are you thankful for this year?   Besides the usual things (family, friends, health, a job, etc) I am extremely thankful for the Beatles!

Can't wait to Get Back!!!!!!

If you are one of the few people that haven't seen the sneak peek of the upcoming "Get Back" film, then you need to get yourself over to Youtube and watch it.   It is amazing!   We all know that January 1969 was a tense time for the Beatles, but as all fans have known for years:  it wasn't all gloom and doom.   The Beatles did have some fun during making the future Let it Be album.   This look into the upcoming film highlights the fun the four guys had.  Let me tell you, I was smiling the entire time I was watching it --- maybe the most I've smiled all year!   This short little clip quickly reminded me just how much I love The Beatles and why I continue to do all The Beatles things that I like to do.

Making an album

January 24, 1969 -  These are some of my favorite photos from the Get Back Sessions.   I do remember my first time seeing them, feeling a bit angry that Yoko was sitting there with the band as if she was a member.  But now I just appreciate the photos for what they are.

That time George quit the Beatles

From George Harrison's journal

On January 10, 1969, The Beatles arrived at Twickenham and started working on the song "Get Back."    At some point, John and George get into an argument (the famous George and Paul "I'll play what you want me to play..." argument were a few days prior).   Some people say that John and George's fight turned physical, but there is not proof of that.    George expressed later that he was tired of the mood of the cold, large studio being so negative.   He had just been working with people like Jackie Lomax that were positive and was fed up with the negative vibe.   George was also tired of Yoko and how she was speaking for John.    So after lunch, he walked out, telling Lindsey-Hogg that he would see him "around the clubs."

That afternoon, the three remaining Beatles had an angry jam session with Yoko sitting on George's blue cushion, wailing into George's mic.

Let it Be premiere

When Let it Be Premiere on May 20, 1970, the Beatles were officially broken up as a band.    However, fans still weren't sure if at least some of the band members would make an appearance.   Of course none of the Beatles came to see Let it Be on the big screen, but let's take a look back at who WAS at the premiere.
