One overzealous fan

She should have waited just a few more seconds and the Beatles would have been coming off the plane instead of Tony Barrow, Bob Bonis (I think) and Wendy Hanson.

The Beatles backstage at Busch

The Beatles had about four hours to kill backstage at Busch Stadium.   The first locker room they settled into didn't have air conditioning, so they had to switch with the supporting acts.   It was during the switch that a fan gave John Lennon a gift of a rubber chicken!

The press conference originally been scheduled for that time had been canceled and the press group that traveled with them had gone out for dinner on the Hill and so the Beatles were left to talk to some people from the local newspapers, a DJ from Denver, the St. Louis fan club, George's sister Louise and her kids and Larry Kane who had came by to visit.

Heading toward St. Louis

The Beatles got onto a plane and went over 300 miles to St. Louis, Missouri.  Bob Bonis took photos of this for us to enjoy 50 years later.

An afternoon with the Beatles

Alright---so here's the deal.   The Beatles' 1965 concert in Chicago is going to be featured in my upcoming book and so while I have gotten some great photos and stories to share, I really have to hold off so that they will be "new" in the book.    And it is killing me!   The fan stories I have to share about Chicago will knock your Beatles socks off!  However, I have to hold off---

The Beatles performed 2 shows at the White Sox Park (as it was stated on the ticket).  They wore dark suits at the first one.

the Sam Houston Coliseum

The Beatles in Houston is just one of those venues that we have a lot of information on, which is awesome.     The Houston show was the first Beatles concert bootleg I remember hearing and I loved it!   John was losing his voice and sounded terrible, but at the same time it sounded like he was having so much fun.    There is a book about the Beatles in Houston.  It is called Beatles '65 and was written by Joe Tunzi.
