Hello Beatles Cracker!

In 1964 the Clark Race radio program out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania had a contest where one of the listeners got to travel to England and meet the Beatles!    I bought a card that has photos taken during that contest and here is what it says:

Hello Beatles Cracker, hello!

Here are photos form the swingin' trip that Beatle Cracker contest winner Jacalyn Lebarton and I took to England and Scotland to meet the Beatles.  These shots were taken in the Beatles' dressing room, in the TV studio where they did a Shakespeare bit.

Yesterday marks the 50th anniversary of the Beatles television special, Around the Beatles, where the Beatles performed the Shakespeare skit and many of their songs along with others in Brian Epstein's grouping.    This special has been a favorite among Beatle fans for the past 50 years!

A fan sneaks an autograph from John during the making of the Beatles special, "Around the Beatles."  This was a no-no according to the ticket to get into the show...

Lion around

Can you believe how close these fans were allowed to get to Ringo during this "Around the Beatles" special?   Sure Ringo looks silly in a Lion costume, but who cares?   Those fans that are near him don't seem to mind.   I just don't know how they were able to control themselves.
