Julian and Jodie
In the winter of late 1973/ early 1974, John took Julian around Hollywood to various television and movie studios. We have seen the photograph of John and Julian with the cast of "Happy Days." During that same time, they also met Jodie Foster. She was most likely working on the pilot for the show "Paper Moon."
Julian is sure grinning in this photo! I think he must have had a crush on Miss Foster (and who could blame him?)

The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Museum - A Review (2018)
| The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland 2018 (photo by Sara Schmidt) |
I was the proud recipient of a grant to travel to Cleveland, Ohio to do research for my upcoming book about the Beatles' fan clubs at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Archives. I spent Tuesday-Friday during the day digging through old scrapbooks, files, books, and databases for Beatles information for the book. However, my evenings were free and the library wasn't open on Saturday, so I took the opportunity to meet up with the girls from WALHFMF and go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame museum to see the Beatles stuff.
The museum changed around the Beatles section recently and it has some great Beatles items to see in person.

It was very John-heavy this time in the museum. Ringo's drumsticks were on display and a classic Beatles 1963 suit of George's but it seemed to have more John items. Now, I personally wouldn't be complaining about this because John is my favorite, but if I was a George, Paul or Ringo fan, I would be a little disappointed by the lack of recognition.
Right next to the exhibit, is a wall of small screens. This is a great documentary about each of the Beatles albums. All of the key players are shown talking about the songs and albums. There isn't any new information, but I did spot a couple "new" photographs and it is well worth the time to sit on the benches nearby and watch from Please Please Me to Let It Be.
There is a special exhibit going on right now called "Stay Tuned: Rock on TV." I really enjoyed it. It is all about rock music and television from variety shows to MTV -- everything is covered (including cartoons). Beatle fans will want to check out the Ed Sullivan section on the 4th floor right behind this huge television set. The guitar John Lennon used on the Sullivan show is displayed (and was hard to photograph) as well as a few other items.
Go up to the 5th floor and you will find the clothing Ringo wore on Saturday Night Live in 1984
If you find yourself in Cleveland this summer, it is well worth going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. There is a lot of things to see and interesting films to watch as well as plenty of Beatles content to keep you happy.
Loving the Beatles
These photos are from when a radio disc jockey in the United States named Gene Loving went to London and met the Beatles as well as George's parents and sister.

Happy Beatles Day
So supposedly since 2009, June 25th has been known as "Beatles Day" because it is the anniversary of the "All You Need is Love" broadcast. Now I always thought February 7th was "Beatles Day," but I have nothing against celebrating Beatles Day two times a year!
So I hope you all spread peace and love today and every day. Beatles 4-ever!
A lot to reflect on
Ringo meets contest winners in Israel
This past weekend some Ringo fans had the chance of a lifetime when they won a local contest to meet Sir Ringo himself backstage before the first Tel Aviv concert. One of the lucky winners was Daniel, who was able to get a photograph taken with Ringo along with his lovely lady and two other contest winners (The little boy giving a peace sign in a Beatles t-shirt is adorable!).
There was a little disappointment that Ringo would not sign any autographs or make himself available to fans while staying in the country. While Ringo did flash a quick peace sign to a small group of fans that were calling his name outside of the venue, he was not seen anywhere else before or after the concerts.
I asked Daniel if he enjoyed the concerts (he went to both of them) and he said, "Yes, very much. On stage he is the most sweet guy and sweet to the fans."
As Ringo continues to tour around the world this summer and into the fall, let me know if you have any stories or photos to share!

Who's that girl?
Who would have guessed that the lady sitting next to Paul in the backseat of that car in Los Angeles 50 years ago today would have ended up being his wife and mother of four (counting Heather) of his children.?
A day no one will ever forget
If you were a Beatle fan in Los Angeles on June 24, 1968 - it is a day that you will never forget. I have posted many stories and photographs of what happened 50 years ago today on this blog, that I don't need to rehash it all. However, I thought I would post a few and say thank you to the fans for sharing such amazing Paul photos over the years.

All Brian needs is Love
Much love and thanks go out to Annette once again for sharing a photo. Here is a great photo she took of Brian Epstein on the day that Beatles recorded "All you need is love" for the satellite broadcast. Thanks so much, Annette!!!
Paul arrives in L.A. -- Let the dirty weekend begin!
It was 50 years ago this weekend that Paul and Linda had what we all know to be the "Dirty Weekend." And what a weekend it was! Paul had a reception with Capitol after arriving. He met and playing songs for a group of fans that had been waiting for him where he was staying and spent a LOT of alone time with Linda on top of going on a boat trip.
