A very special time
By Sheryl Walmsley
So this was the first time I ever met Paul in August 1968. This was at Abbey Road in what was then called EMI Studios. I’ll never forget the sound of the Aston Martin engine as he drove into the car park – in those days, you could stand inside the car park. I had a gift for him, so I got myself front and centre – you can see the back of my blonde head directly in front of him. To this day, I still get a thrill when I see/hear an Aston. My friend and I met him several times back then and have many memories, but the first time, despite the crowd, was very special. The photo was taken by my Mate’s penpal, John.
Thank-you Sheryl, for allowing me to share your story and photo.

Homecoming
July 10, 1964 -- I can't imagine how strange and exciting it must have been for the Beatles to drive through their hometown with people lining the streets cheer for them.
