Remembering Harry

Harry Nilsson was on my mind today and then I realized that he died on this date in 1994.   Harry was one of the few people outside of The Beatles that could say that John Lennon and Ringo Starr were his best friends.    We miss you Harry!

I couldn't  make up my mind at which event this photo was taken.  So I analyzed various photos from 1974 and have determined that it was taken during the March of Dimes benefit in Central Park with Harry in April.    And somehow figuring that out makes me feel a lot less stress....

Just a reminder that the Harry Nilsson documentary Who is Harry Nilsson (and why is everybody Talkin' about him) will be released on DVD this Tuesday, Oct 26. I have my copy pre-ordered and I am anxious to get it! I hope some of you out there in Beatle blogland also plan on getting it. If you aren't sure, let me assure you that it is awesome! I saw it in August at the Beatles convention and really loved it. Lots of Beatles tid-bits in there as well.

Here we have a photo that I have never seen before from the March of Dimes charity event that Harry and John did in April of 1974. I just love these two guys together. The pair caused a lot of trouble, but they really seemed to be great friends!

Always loving' Harry

Ever since I saw the Harry Nilsson Documentary at the Fest, I have been on a real Harry kick. I went out and bought Nilsson Schmilsson on Cd and have been listening to it non-stop in the car. His songs have been running through my head like a radio for days and I it doesn't even bother me. So I became a fan of Harry's on Facebook and got some wonderful photos of Harry to share with the rest of you.

All Beatle fans really need to see this film because there is a never before seen photo of Harry, John and Paul from April 1, 1974!! The only other known photos from this day that have John and Paul in them are one from May Pang and one in a Keith Moon book. Also the story about George Harrison at Harry Nilsson's funeral is classic and hilarious and just so perfect.

Not so long lost John Weekend

Here is an awesome John Lennon autographed fan photo from 1974! Perry Cox is currently auctioning it off on ebay (with bidding starting at 99 cents!). John sure doesn't look lost to me!
