Boogie Nights

Ringo was enjoying a night of dancing at the Peppermint Lounge but when it was time to leave, he was attacked by a teenage fan.   Well....he wasn't attacked in the way that he was hurt or anything.   but it sure looked like it shocked him.

  1. Did Ringo visit the Peppermint Lounge on different nights - he's wearing a different jacket in the bottom two pics. Could these be two different night clubs?

    1. Well if you read Geri (the girl Ringo was dating while in New york) account and the fact that she worked at the Peppermint Lounge, then I think Ringo did go there more than one night.

  2. Geri Miller actually dated Ringo two nights in a row that week. The first night at the Peppermint and the second night at some other 'twist' club in the area. Geri was married to Rolling Stones producer Jimmy Miller. I was Geri's son's boarding school roommate back in the early 70's in England.

  3. BTW, this was recently posted on YouTube by Steve Miller, my former roommate. A late 80's tape of Jimmy Miller jamming to Keith Richards. Geri Miller appears at the end of the video.

  4. One last thing I would like to say, Geri Miller was a very nice person and always made people feel welcome whoever they were. She was one of the original Go Go Girls from the "twist" and the birth of the disco scene who knew everyone and was an original Andy Warhol "Superstar".

Some of the gossip about her is totally unfounded and came from jealously from others. She always made everyone who was around her feel special and she is missed by everyone who really knew her.

    1. Thanks for your memories of Geri! I always loved her in both the 1964 footage...as well as "Flesh" (i think that's the one.....Flesh, or Trash, she's in that one, the Andy Warhol/Paul Morrissey film!).

I think she's way cool, and I love that video of Jimmy Miller playing! I never knew they were married! Jimmy, incidentally, is the drummer on "You Can't Always Get What You Want", a great drummer in his own right, not to mention amazing producer! I love Geri at the end of that video! She seems all grown up and well-adjusted, they seem like a beautiful couple. I can't believe they both passed away in the early 90s, that is tragic.

    2. Geri was in both those films and Warhol himself was the cameraman.
