Honey Hush Hush
After all of these years, George's "Mystery Date" from these photos remains unknown. If this George was a pop star of today, the girl's name would have been plastered all over the tabloids, but things were a bit more private for stars in 1964. Not a lot more private, but a little bit. Here is what George said about his date, which is actually pretty hilarious.
"Her name is Hush-Hush and she's a friend of the family. As you will probably guess from her name, she's Chinese."

Actually this is 1964.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Harrison out on a date with "a friend of the family", London, 6 February 1964, the night before the Beatles flew to New York for the first time.

Vitaliy
The "Beatles Files" book had these on a page with photos from December 1963 so that is why I was confused.
ReplyDeleteLook at George's haircut, in December 1963 his hair was much longer. On these 3 photos his hair is exactly like he wore during the first Beatles visit to America. So this is definitely February 1964.

Vitaliy is correct. This was a Daily Mirror story from the night before the departure to America, Feb 1964
ReplyDeleteSo THAT'S why George got sick when he got to the USA! He was out partying!!!
