The best thing in the World!!

This is something that is currently up on ebay.     Here is the story the fans that obtained this autograph of George, Paul and Ringo wrote in her scrapbook.

This is it!!!  The best thing in the world!

How can I live?  It's just oo much!!!  This is a picture of Paul signing a book but guess what:  It's mine!  I still can't believe it!!  It's too good to be true.  This is the account of how this fab, wonderful, great, gear event came about -- whow!

When The Beatles came to Washington D.C. for a performance at the Washington Coliseum on February 11 they had a press conference before it and my father went.  He met all the Beatles and got all their autographs on this book to expect John!  I wish I had his.  On the radio, they said it couldn't be done.  They said it was impossible to get their autograph, but I did!  Daddy says their [sic] real nice people and a lot of fun.  I still can't believe it!

P.S. Somebody else took the picture.

George fan

I am posting this because I find it to be so cute!   I love it when I stumble across things that Beatles fans wrote during the 1960's.

Beatle Fan Book

This would have been my blog circa 1965.   Before the internet there were fan books!

Wings scrapbook

I found this at Beatlesbay and I found it to be really neat. Some die-hard Paul McCartney fan obviously saw Wings in concert in Boston in 1976 and tried to take photos. Then went home and put together this sweet scrapbook. I loved the use of the label maker because in the 1970's, my Grandpa labeled everything you can think of with one as well. Actually if my Grandpa was a Wings fan, he could have made this scrapbook. It looks a lot like his work.....cut out newspaper collages and all.

However....in 2010 we now know that magnetic photo albums are the WORST thing you can do to your treasured photographs. It pains me to see these Paul photos in this album because I know for a fact that the acid and glue from the magnetic pages are EATING right through the photographs and it will be almost impossible to pry the photos off the page without tearing them. In a few more years, the photos will have disintegrated. Please all fans out there. If you have any photographs that you treasure (Beatles photos or your own personal family photos) that are in these magnetic albums, PLEASE remove them from them TODAY! I love photos (obviously) and I hate for someone memories to be ruined by magnetic albums.
