I've read on the book Beatles' Gear that they bought the two guitars on the late August 1962 or first days of September (at the suggestion of Tony Sheridan while in Hamburg, he's got one then too). Days later they were invited by the shopkeepers to come back to take pictures. They probably learned then who the two young guitarists were. These pics were taken by Dezo Hoffman on September 10 at Rushworth Store in Liverpool.
