In November 1970, George and Pattie took a trip to Florida for a little rest and relaxation after the All Things Must Pass recording sessions. Everytime they ran into someone that recognized them, George would ask them to keep the trip a secret until after he left
These are the only photos that I am aware of from this trip.
Isn't the photo of George and Pattie sitting on a golf cart, where George is eating a golf ball, also from this trip?
ReplyDeleteWhen I talked to Patty Boyd at her book signing in Palm Beach she said that photo was from this trip. Post the picture if you have it, I haven't been able to find it online.
DeleteWhat is that animal at Patty's feet? It looks like a lioness!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a cougar. Also known as a mountain lion.
DeleteIn florida it's a panther.
DeleteA friend of the family pulled up in a station wagon with the mountain lion that day.
DeleteI was living at the apt. complex owned by George'd uncle (Gregg Apts.). We all had a fun picnic that day.
I have a photo of George & I in front of my apt.(Gregg Apts./Deerfield Beach)
ReplyDeleteWas living there studying music at the time. Got to hang with him & Pattie for a while. Great people!
Hi Rick, I'm Jeff Fisk with the Deerfield Beach Historical Society and I first heard about George and Pattie's visit in 1971 when I was 11. I'd like to interview you if possible, I have so many questions. You can message me Jeff Fisk on Facebook. PS I talked to Patty Boyd at her book signing in Palm Beach and the Mountain Lion was owned by a friend of George's sister Louise. Could that friend have been Preston Henn?
DeleteWonder what city of town they were in?
