Since no one can seem to agree if George's birthday is February 24 or February 25, I am going to do the best thing: celebrate George's birthday on both days!
These Henry Grossman photos were taken on George's birthday party held at his house, Kinfauns on February 25, 1967.
Happy Birthday to an incredibly talented man - George Harrison. Will never forget you.
ReplyDeleteI see David Crosby wormed his way right next to George in the last pic.
ReplyDeleteIs that George's pal David Crosby in the bottom (5th) photo?
ReplyDeleteCould very well be, as The Byrds were touring Europe - using London as their away-from-home-base - at this very point in time.
George's birthday has always been and will always be February 25, 1943, so Happy Name Day George, thank you for the Music, Peace and Love...
ReplyDeleteI didn’t know there was a controversy about George’s birth date. What is the basis of it? I have been a fan for 55 years, and as far as I know it is the date that George originally reported, February 25. I would be very interested in knowing why that date is contested. I know that you are in mourning Sarah, and hope that you are doing as well as you can under the circumstances. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteHe was born very near midnight and some thought it was the 24th 11.50 or something. thats where the story is coming from!
DeleteGeorge made a joke about it once - when wished a HB he said you missed it by a day. It's 2/25.
Deleteyeah, read about him joking too
