Goodbye George Martin

I found myself wide awake and came onto the computer to see the news of George Martin's death.   I find some comfort in that George was 90 years old and he lived a wonderful and full life that brought happiness to many, many people.

I am so thankful that he believed in the Beatles and was willing to allow them to record their own songs and showed them different instruments to use on their music.   I am thankful that George didn't scoff when John wanted to run a tape backwards or Paul wanted to use loops or when John wanted a song to sound like a circus.    George was experimental and ahead of his time and was the perfect producer for the Beatles.

We will miss you George.

  1. George Martin was the reassuring old school English gentleman, like John Dankworth, and, from the other side of the country, like Alan Bennett. The opposite of 'Live & Let Die,' in fact: a gentle sense of common decency now, alas, made obsolete.

    1. So very true. He always was such a dignified gentleman and I just loved to listen to his gorgeous voice. I need to watch the 'Anthology' again. R.I.P. Mr. Martin and thank you for all the beauty you helped to create, for us to enjoy for the rest of our lives.

    1. Ms. Bravo, I always wanted to ask: did George Martin ever interact with any of the fans? Did he interact with you at all during the "Across The Universe" session?

Such a class act, a generous, humble artist......and as far as I'm concerned.....the fifth Beatle.
