The Beatles and Bowie

I am not a David Bowie fan.   However, I don't have to be a fan to appreciate his contribution to music and his friendship with members of the Beatles.   My heartfelt sympathies and condolences go out to everyone who is a David Bowie fan.    I know first hand how gut wrenching and devastating it feels when your favorite musician dies.   The rest of the world shakes their head and  you and says thing like, "but you didn't even know him...get over it."    But I will say to those fans that you DID know him through his music and his music will always be there when you need it.   You are in my prayers.

  1. Thank you for this tribute to David Bowie Sara. I have been very sad today with the news of his passing. I was lucky enough to see him in concert in 1990. Don't forget he also did a cover version of "Across the Universe' and George's "Try Some, Buy Some". MarkZapp

  2. Like Mark, I have been very sad all day. I haven't felt this deeply about losing a favorite rock star since December 1980. (But that was a million times worse.) Bowie was a true original and a brilliant artist. I was so happy when he and John became friends and only wish they had collaborated more together. RIP to one of the greatest of all time.

  3. Well, you should know about John's passing, then, that there is a lot of information now available. radiofetzer.blogspot.ca/2012/12/clare-keuhn-total-info.html RIP to both and Epstein and others.

  4. I forgot to mention that John, of course, plays with Bowie on "Fame". Ironically I shed a lot of tears nearly four years ago with the death of ANOTHER David Jones. The one from the Monkees that caused Bowie to change his last name in the 60's to avoid confusion with. MarkZapp
