Photographer and photo

Hold onto your hat, Mike because Dave Morrell (who is awesome and everyone needs his book, Horse Doggin') was looking through the archives of this blog and couldn't believe what he found!

This is a photo that I have had on this blog for many years.   Ringo in New York City mid 1970's and a fan is taking his photo.      Well--Dave found the photo and recognized that HE is the fan taking the photo and here is his result (snapped just a few  seconds later).    I love stuff like this!

  1. Dave Morrell Forever! That's so funny! I love when this happens, which isn't the first time...or even the fifth time it's happened here! You'd think we'd be used to it by now!

Mr. Morrell, if you're reading, I am dying to get your book (believe me, if it's not under the Xmas tree - aka Beatle Book Season - then it'll be in my hands in January!) Also, I heard two interviews with you recently, I could literally listen to twenty hours of your stories: you are so articulate, infectious....it's like we're there with you in every story....one of our patron saints!

  2. HELLO - I WAS THERE AT THE TIME AND THIS WAS TAKEN IN JUNE 1972. GEORGE CAME OUT OF THE BUILDING A BIT LATER ON THAT DAY SPORTING SHORT HAIR.

  3. Fantastic, Sara! I often wonder how many photos of me around the fabs are out there... there were hundreds of tourists outside EMi Studios every Summer while I was in London (67/68/69) taking loads of photos. I hope I get to see at least some of them one day!

  4. Ringo was leaving 1700 Broadway where ABKCO was located on the 41st floor. I worked in that building so I was there when Ringo and George were! I wish there were cell phone cameras back then because one time I got into the elevator with George and Dylan. It was not long after the Concert for Bangladesh - we had a great chat on the way down to the lobby.
