Does anyone know what country this is from? Is the young man standing next to a poster for "A Hard Day's Night" in his country, or is it some other Beatles film? It appears to be "A Hard Day's Night" to me from the little photos of the Beatles on the poster. I think it is an awesome poster.

ReplyDeleteHi Sara and followers, the only information I can give is that "együttes" is the hungarian word for "band" or "group" so I guess we are talking about a photo taken somewhere in Hungary. For me looks like an "A Hard Day's Night" advertising also.

Looks like Hungary, I searched for some of the words to the left of the man - they were Hungarian.
ReplyDeleteHey, it's daisy from tumblr. I was searching the photo and it is a Hungarian advertisement for AHDN. I had found a link that led to a polish beatles fan site, it was unfortunately discontinued, but I was able to translate a small portion of what the site had said. I posted the photo on my blog with the source back to here if you don't mind.

ReplyDeleteConsidering the communist attitude towards rock and roll and The Beatles in particular, I'm suprised to see anything advertising them in Hungary during the sixties. This is interesting.
