Ringo didn't have to meet up with the "Kids in the car" photo that he snapped 50 years ago, but I am glad that he made the right choice and met with them during his Los Angeles appearance this past weekend. I hope that they got an autographed print of the photo as well, because that would just be the icing on the cake.

Over the weekend in Las Vegas, Ringo Starr finally reunited
with “The Kids in the Car” - the group of Beatles fans he snapped a
photo of 49 years ago, and who now appear in his new book, ‘Photograph.’
The fans reminisced with Ringo, had a photo taken with him (by Rob
Shanahan, who will be a guest at the NYC FEST in February), attended his
concert, and also went to see a performance of ‘Beatles Love.’ As Ringo
described it, the whole scene was “far out.”

I have met Rob on several occasions at Beatlefest. He is very nice, a true fan of Ringo and great drummer. Although I do wonder where he was when you met Ringo!
Deletein the other hand I was glad to be alone with ringo, just me my wife and ringo over 10 minutes.

ReplyDeleteWow! That is awesome. Please tell your husband a big congratulations from "Meet the Beatles for Real!" I have been following this story since it broke. This blog at times has located some of the fans in photos from the 1960's and I was hoping to find your husband and his friends. But I was just so glad that they were found and got to meet Ringo. If he would ever like to tell his whole story on the blog, we would love to hear it.
