Let's Kick!

Here the Beatles are performing the "Let's Kick" dance along with Lionel Blair when they appeared on the Blackpool Night out TV program in 1965.

I have no idea what the "Let's Kick" dance is about.  Ringo seems to be getting into it.   John is no where to be found (John always did dislike dancing, didn't he?).   Paul is flirting with the ladies in the bonnets and George is skipping and not kicking.   They sure made the Beatles do some silly things in the 1960's.

  1. I have the vid of this. John was there but he's not in this shot for some reason. Guess he got cut out of this shot. They're all looking at the girls' feet trying to learn the silly dance. Yeah Ringo is the only one who seems to be getting the hang of it. The girls' costumes are ridiculous.

  2. I suppose this is what John meant when he said that you had to completely humiliate oneself to be in the Beatles!!!

  3. I've got this video as well, I LOVE this Blackpool set FAR MORE than the Ed Sullivan appearance: Same setlist, but the Blackpool was far more fun and looser especially on the rhythm section of some songs like "Ticket to Ride"..

As for the dance, it's SO BIZARRE to hear the music blaring and dancers come out after they closed with the more serious 'Help!'.. Just a weird change of mood from seriousness to this goofiness.

I saw John was completely lost, his reaction was like 'WTF..!!'..

Both George and Ringo were tryin' to get in the mood of things, with Ringo succeeding the most. Paul just stood in the back.
