Let's take a dip

The woman looking at the camera is funny to me.     I have seen these people in other photos from this day.  Who are they?

  1. May be the family of police Sgt. Buddy Dresner, who was assigned to escort them while in Miami.

  2. I think that this is the backside view of the famous photo session of them in the swimming pool at the Deauville Hotel. I know that the most famous shot ended up on the cover of Life Magazine in 1984.

  3. Buddy Dresner has two daughters and one son. These look like two boys and they also look slightly older than Buddy's kids. These are probably just random hotel guests.

  4. you r wrong. the life photo was taken at a private home away from the crowds. The family was well known by a famous comic who asked if they could use their property for the shoot! The family liked them so much that the foursome was invited back to hang out again. They enjoyed not only the privacy break but the taste of American deli ! I know this because a close friend was a jealous cousin who only got to go to their show ! His somewhat older female cousin didn't want him and her little brother hanging around! 😎

  5. From Miami New Times web :

"In February 1964 the Beatles had invaded Miami Beach, and they needed somewhere quiet to escape the mobs of screaming fans for a Life magazine shoot. Through an Ed Sullivan Show connection (comedian Myron Cohen), the mop-topped British sensations were pulled away from the swarmed Deauville Hotel and spirited to 5750 North Bay Rd. -- a house owned by the local Pollak family.

Linda Pollak and her three brothers were instructed to get into the chilly pool first so the photographers could adjust their camera settings. Then the Pollak kids waded out and the world's most famous pop stars waded in."
