I think this color photograph of John and two fans from the Beatles fan club (really they are girls from the movie A Hard day's night) in 1964 is just GORGEOUS! I am not sure if it is just because the photo is in color or what, but something about it looks so modern to me. As if this photo was just taken a few months ago instead of almost 50 years ago....
Pretty sure this was 1964 on the set of AHDN, those girls look like the extras that were used in the film.
ReplyDeleteWell the Beatle Book Monthly sometimes is right on their dates, but not always so it wouldn't shock me if they were wrong.
ReplyDeleteJohn is posing with Tina Williams and Susan Whitman who portrayed schoolgirls in A Hard Day's Night and posed combing the Beatles' hair in photos taken on the movie set in March 1964.
ReplyDeleteTheres quite a batch Ringo woth SW and TW.
ReplyDeleteAnd SW is the one who tries to grab Ringos hair in "I should have known better" sequence.

I have only seen those ladies in black and white and did not recognize them at all in color! Goes to show that once again BBm (or in this case the BBM hard back book) was wrong. Oh well...it is still a beautiful photograph.
ReplyDeleteSurprised the BOOK is wrong as they,J Dean, knew who they were whenever they were in the magazine!

In Haywards books SW is in colour with Paul and PB plus others of those 2 outside carriage (Id
like one to surge with too!)
There are supposedly also color photos from the set of AHDN with Prue Bury (sometimes spelled 'Pru'), the girl with Pattie in the dining car scene. I have never seen them, nor has Prue, who is a good friend. She'd love to see them, as would I.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me for my language but WHERE THE FUCK WHERE I IN THIS PHOTO?!?!
