I am sure that you remember the photos I have posted on this blog of George and John at the party for Beatles Fan Club Secretaries from December 1967. One of the lucky fans that attended the party saw herself in one of the photos I posted and contacted me and I got to post photos of her autograph. Well I bought some more Beatles Book Monthly Magazines form the 1980's and 1990's and one of them had a few more photos from that party that I hadn't seen before. Aren't these great! I would have LOVED to have attended this party. Looks like everyone was having a good time.
What about me! I LIVED in London and was not invited because I didn´t work for the Fan Club!

One question: Were you invited to other parties with the Beatles ? And back in Dec 1967, did you know that they were giving this "Magical Mystery Tour" party ? Thanks a lot and all the best !
ReplyDeleteLizze you sang with the Beatles!! No sympathy for you because you missed this party, sorry. :) Although John was looking mighty gorgeous that night I must say! And a viewing of MMT and the Shea Stadium concert before any other fan would be neat as well.
ReplyDeletehi tiago! nice to meet you! look me up on orkut and/or facebook so we can be friends. i wasn´t invited to any parties, unfortunately (though i am not complaining, of course). i didn´t know they were having that party. i don´t think any of us knew. communication was complicated in 1967... no cell phones (only the beatles had these big cell phones in their cars), no internet... we only found out certain things after they happened.
ReplyDeleteAs a point of interest, the party was by invitation only, (in the post) so lack of mobiles was not the issue then. It was, as far as I remember all those connected to MMT who were invited Lizzie, but I dare say the Area Secs of fan club were as well. It was indeed one great party!! :)
Deletei ain´t complaining, dear sara! i once complained that i had never seen the beatles in concert and some of my us friends gave me a hard time saying they had been to concerts way up in the nosebleed seats and i sang in the same microphone with john AND then with paul. and by the way, john looked mighty gorgeous all the time...
