Meeting fans backstage before the last concert

No clue who this girl is, but I think she is in love with Ringo and I really love her hair!

I have been reading and looking at a lot of photos from the Beatles backstage before their final concert (not including the rooftop for those of you who like to argue that fact) in San Francisco. It seems to me that there was a lot going on backstage before that show. Much more than usual. Here are some photos of the Beatles meeting people (whom I assume were fans although they could have been "famous" people meeting The Beatles as well)

  1. So, all of these remarkable photographs were taken at Candlestick Park? The first one in the sequence, in particular, is incredible - it looks as if it shows them just moments before they leave for the stage (for the last time...gulp). Can this be correct?

The American tour is when John really began losing weight, isn't it? He is going through changes. And I have always thought it just a little peculiar that George chose this particular concert to go without his Beatle boots. Why so?

Anyway, thank you, as I should say more often, for all of your updates. This post, especially, has made my day.

  2. I am glad to have made your day Julian! Yes all of these photos are from Candlestick backstage prior to the performance. That first photo amazes me as well. Here you have a young man, who is obviously a big fan, totally unaware that he is posing with his heros just moments before they take the stage for the very last time. I wonder where he is today?

Didn't George say something along the lines of "That's it. I am no longer a Beatle." when they were on the plane heading back to L.A. after Candlestick?
