Paul with Mary Hopkins Sept 1968

I once again have to thank Bruno for sending me these photos. He has such amazing photos in his collection. So we all need to send a big THANK YOU to Bruno for sharing his photos. Here is Paul with Mary Hopkins. The black and white photo was from my files. And there is a fan photo included that was taken on the same September 1968 day because you can see Paul is wearing the exact same clothes. Great stuff!

  2. I never seen the Beatles live, since I spent the half of my life in so-called Soviet Union (ussr), and as other citizens of this "great country" did not have any access to the foreign TV media, newspapers, disk, it was forbidden! Moreover in soviet magazines, papers we could read only satirical assays of our journalists who "saw" the Beatles in concerts and described them as a gang of hairy voiceless teenagers shouting senseless songs which even can't be considered as music, as our great famous soviet songs about Lenin or platonic love to communism. First I "met" the Beatles on soviet TV, broadcasting the winter olympic games. Luckily, at that times there was no equipment to cut some episodes from direct broadcasting, and we could enjoy their song in small blacknwhite TV screens. It was very short show, less then 2 min or so, but it changed our life. Imagine, before there were mainly folk chorus and dancing groups who sang the boring songs about Lenin and Communits Party, and with this TV emission we have discovred another worlds where anyone can sing want he wants and wear any lenght of hair w/o being punished. We were all dreaming to meet the Beatles in real or in live concerts, or at least, to own the small, black and white, poor quality photos, multiply photocopied.. So, when I saw Paul at his live concert in Paris, I just recalled those thousands of young fans of the Beatles in communist country, who dreamed but then never got such a possibility in the rest of their life. Sorry for my poor english and thanks for nice blog.
