Toy Soldiers

I have posted this photo before, but it was a scan from a magazine.   The actual photo came up for sale on ebay and I just HAD to buy it.    The late 1980's girl in me loved Martika from Kids Inc. who had a hit song called "Toy Soliders" that I listened to on repeat for the entire year.    So to see her with two of my favorites:  George and Tom (and what is Tom doing to George's hair?).  Well it is just awesome!


The Caption reads:   October 5, 1988.  George Harrison, Martika, and Tom Petty at the party in honor of George Michael thrown by his co-managers Rob Kahane and Michael Lippman at the home of Michael and Nancy Lippman in Beverly Hills.

Like Toy Soldiers

I find this to be an interesting photo.   It isn't strange to see George and Tom Petty together, especially in the late 1980's.  But who do I spot hanging out with these two Wilbury's?   Someone that only a child of the 1980's like me might recognize right away, it is former Kids Incorporated star, Martika.    Martika had one big hit in 1989 with an awesome song called "Toy Soldiers."   Now I am still not sure why she is hanging out with George and Tom, but I think it was a neat find of a photo.
