Stuck in Alaska

August 28, 1966 -- Alaska.  The Beatles sure look bored when they were stuck in a hotel in Alaska on their way to Japan.  They were grounded due to a typhoon in Japan.

  1. The Beatles arrived in Alaska on June 27, 1966 on their way to Japan. They were trying to avoid Typhoon Kit who was hitting Japan and caused quite a bit of damage. The band stayed at the Westward Hotel in Anchorage. They visited the "Top Of The World" club on the hotels top floor...and by some accounts had a brief tour of the city given by a local DJ. They spent some 9 hours in Alaska and boarded a bus at 1am on June 28, 1966 to take them to the airport to begin their long flight to Tokyo on their last world tour..

  2. Bored? More like burnt out. Nearing the end of the "What Else Can Go Wrong" world tour.
