  1. Ringo had collapsed at a Beatles photo shoot on June 3, 1964...just before the start of the bands 1964 world tour that would take them the Denmark...Hong Kong...Australia...and New Zealand. Rather than cancel the tour with Ringo in the hospital with a high fever and tonsilitis...session drummer Jimmie Nicol filled in for Ringo for 11 days at the start of the tour. Ringo was released on June 13, 1964...and the next day...he left with manager Brian Epstein to rejoin the band. First...it was London to San Francisco...then San Fran. to Hawaii...then Hawaii to the island of Fiji...then Fiji to Sydney...then finally...Sydney to Melbourne...landing on June 14, 1964 to a WILD welcome. Ringo said he spent 34 hours on the plane! "Whew!"
