On January 12, 1964, The Beatles performed on Sunday Night at the Palladium. After the show, John, Paul, George and Ringo attended an after show party held at Alma Cogan's house. At the party were journalist Peter Noble and his wife, Marianne Stone. At some point at the party, the couple asked the Beatles to sign the "With the Beatles" and "Please Please Me" albums for their daughters. Katina received "With the Beatles" and Kara got "Please Please Me." On the cover of "With the Beatles," Paul wrote "To Katina with love from the Beatles" and then each Beatle signed his name on the back cover. It appears the same was done on Kara's album.
Katina's autographed "With the Beatles" album is for auction right now at Gotta Have Rock n Roll auctions. It is a pretty amazing signed item from all four Beatles and even more amazing is the photograph of Ringo holding both albums.
Although I bet the Beatles got tired of signing autographs for everyone and their children during these parties.
