The fire looks devastating here, and Ringo was pretty upset when it was going on. At the time, the news reported that Ringo had lost many Beatles items in his fire. Fortunately, that was not true at all. Ringo was renting this home from Harry Nillson and did not have a whole lot of personal property in it, not Beatles items. We have been able to see many of Ringo's Beatles treasures that, for years, we believed were lost in this fire in museums over the past few years.
The price of fame. Youre watching your friends' house in flames with your personal stuff in it as photogs mercilessly snap pics of you. With everything they went thru, maybe JPG&R were used to the constantly intrusive cameras by then. Or maybe not.
ReplyDeleteI remember reading this, with the same photos, at a local newspaper. Did they ever found out what had caused the fire?
ReplyDeleteI'd only ever seen the first two photos pictured here. (MarkZapp)
