The notes in the Abbey Road 50th Anniversary set state that Paul was on drums for OBS, which if true means Ringo is not on either side of the Ballad of J&Y/Old Brown Shoe single. Bet Ringo had a good laugh about it when he joined the others at the photo session for the single's picture sleeve.
Ringo is not seen in any pics from the song's April 1969 recording dates -- maybe coincidental, maybe not. Lewisohn and Ian Mac say Ringo is on drums, the AR Anniv set says it's Paul. Gotta say Ringo's drums on the song in late Jan '69 are pretty damn close to the eventual version. Works for me.
