  1. Hi Sara. I just wanted to say that I have been coming to your site several times a day, every day for years now. The more that I view this site the more that I appreciate that it is filled with Beatles loving people who aren't filled with venom towards certain people associated with The Beatles. Everyday on Facebook I see dozens of Beatles or solo Beatles photos. Many that I have never seen before. The sad and angering thing about them is if a photo of, say Jane or Cynthia or Yoko appears, there are way too many negative comments left by so called fans. They will say things like Jane was prettier than Linda(saw this one today!), John should have stayed with Cynthia or Yoko was a controlling witch over John. It gets to me and I know that people are entitled to their opinions but where is the tact, respect or love? Every day. And then I foolishly try to tell them to show respect or grow up only to get replies that are smug and crude. It makes your site look 1000% better. Maybe you just edit those nasty remarks out? Either way your site is classy and respectful. I thank you for it and I wish you a happy Thanksgiving. Mark Zappasodi

    1. Thank you so much, Mark. I am happy to say that I do not need to edit very many remarks on this page. Maybe 1-2 a year?? Most everyone is very respectful toward the Beatles and their circle of family and friends. That says a lot about the 2000+ people that visit here every day. I am also in those Facebook groups, and I just don't like them. I know that having a "blog" is very out of trend, and Facebook and Instagram are much more popular these days. But I have decided to keep doing things here as I have since 2009 because I don't want to get mixed in with the drama on social media.

    2. Why look at these sites about the Beatles women if they upset you so much? Honestly, comments such as Jane is prettier than Linda, and vice versa, are silly and childish, fandom at its lowest level. But other people also have reasonable opinions and you can't call them out for being rude and disrepectful simply because you don't agree with them. Yoko and Linda were both actively involved in their husbands' careers, singing and performing alongside them. Therefore, any criticism they received for their inclusion, or for their behaviour in public, is no different for the Beatles themselves or for any famous person. Yoko and Linda also actively colluded in the breakdown of both John and Paul's relationships. Personally, I think the celebration of Paul and Linda's Dirty Weekend is disrespectful and insensitive. Paul was engaged to be married to Jane at the time and both he and Linda knew it. The photo that Linda took of Paul hiding his face behind his coat symbolized the cruel duplicity of both of them. I'm not impressed. Yes, yes, I know that's part of life, but even so. It seems that since her death, Linda cannot be wronged, let alone scrutinized even on serious Beatles sites. This is a very good site but let other people have their opinions.

    4. I have posted many comments from people that have spoken of how Linda was not a saint. I myself have commented on it. I respect Linda, but I think how she handled herself the first few years of her marriage to Paul, especially with the fans, was terrible. I also don't think Yoko is a saint and I dislike how she is constantly trying to re-write John's history. Photographs of Paul during the "Dirty Weekend" are something I like, so I will keep publishing them. I think the people the run the Beatles sites on Facebook are doing a great job, and I really think they are amazing! There is just a lot of drama with the commenters. Some people like to take personal digs at the women (such as making fun of Heather Mills for being disabled or saying that Linda is "ugly") that are really uncalled for. I like to see the good and bad of the people without it being cruel. Stick to the facts sort of thing.

    5. Sara, I agree that photos of the Dirty Weekend shouldn't be hidden away. It's the celebration of it that I find distasteful and I stated that was my opinion. I also find derogatory remarks (ugly, etc.) about the appearance of any person in the Beatles story tasteless. I'm glad you don't publish them.

    1. don't see that and this blog is open to all opinions which I enjoy as a fan since 1964

    2. You have rather proved my point regarding disrespect for other people's opinions. The people in the Beatles story are human beings not unrealistic idols you wish to place on a pedestal. If you feel uncomfortable about a few home truths then there's nothing I can do about it.

    3. I am not sure who all these comments are aimed towards. I post a whole lot of photographs of Linda on this site. I also post a whole lot of Jane photos. They both are part of the story. I personally don't like one lady over the other.

  3. if this site is all things BEATLES why not share our thoughts especially if we have met them/women which does not make us any less fans

    1. I highly encourage everyone to share their photos and stories or thoughts about anyone they met who was an important part of The Beatles' lives. The point I was trying to make was that, for the most part, the fans here can have rational discussions without calling any of the key players (especially the ladies) dirty names. Occasionally I will get racist comments against Yoko, which never get published. But really, I think the fans here aren't as petty as they seem to be on Facebook.

  4. Sara, I respect people's opinions, but for the life of me, I don't understand fans who come here keep comparing Linda with Jane, they're completely two different women. Linda made Paul happy and they had a good marriage. That is all we Paul's fans care about Yes we know she wasn't a saint and certainly wasn't virginal when Paul met her, unlike Jane, who was more beautiful. But can you stop with the name calling, after all this woman has been dead for years now. Respect

    1. Here YOU are, saying Jane was more beautiful than Linda. All an opinion!
Weren't Paul and Jane broken up by the time of the "dirty weekend"? I thought that they had already ended when that took place!

    2. What name calling? I wonder where the respect went for John and George, also dead for many years. They weren't saints either. This fan site doesn't dedicate itself to the lives of the solo 'Beatles' only. I'm sure many fans would like to quietly airbrush Cynthia Lennon and Jane Asher in particular out of Beatles history but it doesn't work like that. Between 1963 and 1968 they were inextricably linked with John and Paul throughout the beginning and establishment of the Beatles success. Paul and Linda's happy marriage have no more to do with the Beatles than John and Yoko's controversial one. Anyone would think the Beatles were nonexistent before 1968 given the fuss over these two.

    5. November 27, no matter what you think, Linda was the right woman, with the right goods, at the right time. Simply, Jane wasn't, and never was going to be!

    10. Sorry, I don't see anything funny in some of these comments. If fans stop comparing Linda with Jane, then it'll be okay for all of us.

    11. I don't see them being compared. You seem to be overly invested emotionally in Linda. I don't think you have the right to ask for comments and opinions that only suit your point of view. That's very controlling in my opinion. I haven't seen anything nasty or hateful here.

    12. thank you 12/8 at 3:42 am

    13. That's your opinion,I have mine and you have yours. And there are people here who are heavily invested in Jane.

    14. December 8: I agree wlth you, whenever a pic of Jane and Linda pops up on this site, the Jane's fans come out in force and like you I kinda feel that I need to defend Linda. And it's got nothing to do with being "overly heavily emotionally invested in Linda"!

      Delete
    15. Dec 10 It seems that every time you see a pic of Jane you somehow perceive it to be a slight on Linda. No, Jane didn't end up marrying Paul but that doesn't mean that fans don't feel respect and admiration for her as a person in her own right.
You need to get over your defensiveness - or least provide some examples to back up your silly claims.

    16. You seem to read the only comments that you like! Enough said, I'm wasting my time wth you, and you're the one who's being silly. Ta ta.

    17. we all have our favourites and consider that Jane & Linda are both out of the picture now but are a part of Paul's past

  5. no point in any name calling or racist comments and am glad not to see it here

  6. John and George had nothing to do with Jane/Paul/Linda relationship. We fans have our favourite Beatle, but I hope we all respest the other three, including their women. Most of the fans seem to have prefered Jane and Cynthia, but John and Paul were happier with Linda and Yoko,so let's all except that. John 's marriage to Yoko wasn' t controversial, at least it was normal to them, and who cares about the dirty weekend! These people carried on with their lives so let's all move on.

  7. Let's get one thing straight. Number one in the Beatles' relationships were each other and making big hits. That's why they had the no women in the studio rule. Once they got tired of each other and bored with fame and fortune, they looked to their women. By then it was too late. Too bad. But like their fans, they moved on not caring about the trail of damage and hurt they left behind. It's what rock stars do.

    1. Not caring about the trail of damage and hurt they left behind!! That''what rock stars do!! What exactly are you saying? These four men had every right to be happy in their private life. It's got nothing to do with us as fans. A lot of men cheat on their women, not just rock stars! Unfortunately that's life. This is quite baffling!
