Lizzie and her guy

55 years ago Lizzie Bravo got her photograph taken with her favorite Beatle, John Lennon.   I know how excited she must have been at the moment this photograph was taken.   There isn't a day that goes by since Lizzie passed away that I haven't thought of her.   I find myself sitting at my computer or picking up my phone whenever I see a good John photo to share it with her.  Sometimes I still can't believe she is gone.  I keep expecting to see a comment on this site from her.    I just love this photo-- don't you?

  1. The thing that has surprised me the most about Lizzie is that it seems everyone she was in touch with (and it was a LOT of people), felt like they were lucky to know someone so intimately connected with the band. Most of us can't just email or call Paul, Ringo, Yoko, Olivia, etc. Other people like Billy Preston or George Martin are gone. But a lot of us were able to reach out and have conversations with Lizzie. She gave so much of herself to everyone she knew, and this is why so many of us miss her now. Someone who was *in* the studio, someone who's *on* a record, and she was *our* friend. We share her excitement through her photos, but she was also 'a famous person' in her own right, who knew us, and we knew her. I have many emails from Lizzie. "The love you take" indeed.

    1. Very, very well put. I considered Lizzie to be my friend because we quickly moved away from just talking about the Beatles and John and started talking to each other about our lives. I cherish the phone calls I had with her, especially the ones after Shawn passed away. You learn who your true friends are once you lose someone very close to you and Lizzie continued to check on me. We had a lot in common plus we both were John girls and could "fangirl" over a picture of John and I loved that. Sometimes I would forget that she was someone that actually was in the studio with the Beatles but then it would hit me all over again. She was so humble and considered herself to be a fan like any of us who just got really lucky. As a result, we all were so lucky to have known her.

    1. Maybe that is part of why I think about her all the time -- I obviously am on this site daily. I wouldn't have met her if I didn't have this site to begin with. I wish I had been able to meet her in person. She just never made it back to the United States.

  4. I still could never forget how lizzie knitted those baby gifts for John and Yoko's unborn child before they sadly miscarried. Such a passionate Lennon devotee.

    3. I know she told me, but I can't remember. I bet it is in her book. I will check and let you know.

    4. Here is what it says in the book: "John and Yoko left at 8:30 pm, I gave the baby the little things - cap, gloves and white knitted shoes with silk ribbons, which I made - and they both said "thank you" and smiled a lot. A friend took a picture for me. I was happy."

    5. Thank You! Also, do you know what J&Y did with the gifts or are they just lost?

    7. I don't think there is any way of knowing what they ended up doing with the gifts.
