I am not sure about the rest of you, but I was not aware of this interview/performance on VH1 until after George passed away. Suddenly Vh1 was showing this program nonstop. It is really good and I do recommend finding it if you have never seen it. George seems very relaxed and happy.
I believe he was there(along with Ravi Shankar, not seen but there) to promote Ravi's new album. Possibly Chants of India? I believe that this was George's final recorded interview and performance. Ravi also was interviewed. (MarkZapp)
ReplyDeleteIt was a huge moment for Fugelsang. He was/is a huge Beatles fan.
ReplyDelete"I was very prepped and it was the most nervous, it was the worst interview, uh, in the history of speech," Fugelsang said. "I was terrified but I was a huge fan of George and his solo career. He came in with Ravi Shankar, they were producing an album of Indian native chants at the time, and I knew if I asked about the Beatles, George would get bored and take off. So, I talked about God, meditation, what happens when you die, the soul, and he got into it. He stayed for four hours."
I saw it when it was on at the time. Vh1 had a lot of good stuff back then.
