An online Beatles fan club for and about Beatle fans
This is not March 21st. That date was the infamous one where John had taken too much LSD and George Martin took him up to the roof for fresh air, not realizing he was totally out of his gourd. Ringo did not attend that session. Since he's clearly in the photo, this must not have been that date.
In fact, this was taken place on February 28th, 1967 when they were recording Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.
Ooops -- I got the date wrong on that one. Still it is an interesting photo.
I think the date is February 28, 1967. It is one of Henry Grossman's photos. The lads were composing/rehearsing Lucy in the Sky that night.
I believe this was taken on 28th February 1967 by Henry Grossman at the first session for Lucy in the Sky..
I've read quite a few times that the Beatles never allowed wives or visitors into the studio, but this photo seems to tell a very different story.
and now it's time to play... Identify the people with their backs turned to the camera! Strange photo really. Who would have thought the Fabs would allow that many people to watch them recording?
I believe this is Pink Floyd and girlfriends who were recording Piper in the next studio.
Yes, Pink Floyd and girlfriends but not recording, just watching. Paul is clearly on the piano. They are recording Lovely Rita.
