Remembering Maureen

I just heard the sad news that Maureen Cleave has passed away.   We all remember Maureen as one of The Beatles favorite journalists.   She seemed to take them seriously and didn't constantly ask about "when the bubbles bursts."   In the Autumn of 1965, Maureen went to the homes of The Beatles and Brian Epstein spent time with them and wrote a very honest article about how each man lived.   Of course, we all know how the article she wrote about John backfired in August of 1966 in America.  However, she was a very talented journalist at a time when female journalists were not taken seriously.    There have been rumors that John had an affair with Maureen, but who knows?

So sad to hear of her passing.  Prayers for all of her family and close friends during this time.

  1. She will be forever remembered as a footnote in their story, but an important one. What incredible days she must have experienced back then.
