So what album is Ringo holding?? It looks likes posters for the "red" album and the George Harrison "Living in the Material World." That would make this photo from 1973, right?
The perm alone makes it 1973. I see the "Material World" cover plastered on the two windows (along with the Apple logo), but I don't see anything for the red album. It vaguely looks like Paul & Linda on whatever Ringo is carrying, but I can't make it out clearly.
I noticed the red band, but there's no type or small apple logo or anything like a photo beneath it. I don't think it has anything to do with the red album; it's probably just a piece of window trim (like the green on the window to the left).
The album that Ringo is holding is "Ronco present [sic] 40 Smash Hits Based on the film That'll Be the Day." https://www.picclickimg.com/d/l400/pict/133385406240_/THATLL-BE-THE-DAY-FILM-SOUNDTRACK-MR-2002-3-1st-PRESS-UK-VINYL.jpg
That is a photo of David Essex(left) and Ringo himself(right) so it may be a photo or album of the film they starred in "That'll Be The Day". (MarkZapp)
Yep definitely the Ronco "That'll Be The Day" album (held upside down). Looks like Summer weather. "Living in The Material World" came out in the UK on June 22 so I'd guess this is probably sometime in June. Ringo had returned to England around Mid April and was definitely still there until mid July when he returned to LA to mix his "Ringo" album but was back in London once more in Late July.

ReplyDeleteThe Red album is at the upper right.

DeleteTo the upper right of the red band.
DeleteOh, I see now. I was thinking the red band was the 'top' of what was assumed to be the album cover, not the bottom. My bad.
