The day we realized it really was over

February 19, 1971 -- 50 years ago Linda and Paul outside the Royal Courts bring a lawsuit against the other 3 Beatles.    Many fans were holding out and had hope that The Beatles really weren't going to break up -- but this lawsuit sent those dreams crashing.

  1. Given the circumstances, Paul had no choice. Not an easy decision for him to make. Eventually he probably saved The Beatles' earnings. I somewhat blame Klein for this mess. (MarkZapp)

  2. Pete Townshend had been wooed by Klein in '67 and was instantly repulsed by him. I don't "blame" Klein at all. He already had an industry reputation for being a weasel and a schmuck by the time John met him. So if JG+R had listened to those who urged them to steer clear of him (Klein's client Jagger being one), they wouldve avoided years of chaos. Which is why I believe JG+R have been wise to avoid condemning Klein in the media, for the most part.
