Thank you everyone! I sure did not recognize Magic Alex in this photo. I am used to seeing him with facial hair. But yes, now that I know who I am looking at, it sure is crazy ol' Magic Alex. Did he buy his own suit or did George let him borrow his?
I don't know who the photographer was. When Paul Goresh passed away, all of his Beatles collection was sold on ebay. All of the Beatles photographs in the collection was water marked with "Paul Goresh collection" I saved all of the photos from the collection on my flash drive.
Years ago, I bought an Apple Boutique jacket identical in pattern and design to that one. The local Dallas man from whom I bought it said that it was originally obtained in 1968 at the boutique's free giveaway closing by actor Michael J. Pollard. The jacket would have fit someone of a small stature like Pollard and he was certainly there at the closing of the store. So who knows? I later sold it. Wish I still had it.
Alexis 'Magic Alex' Mardas
ReplyDeleteAlex Mardas with Pattie, George, John (and Cynthia, hidden behind George) in Paris attending the Beach Boys concert for UNICEF on December 16, 1967.
ReplyDeleteThat would be Alexis Mardas, or Magic Alex, who wears the suit in the first pic.
ReplyDeleteIn the first photo Magic Alex wears the same suit but that could be George's.

ReplyDeleteI guess I was signed into my work account and didn't realize it when I made that comment. Ooops.
Deletehi Sara, who's the photographer for the first photo? The watermark said Paul Goresh. The same Paul Goresh who took John Lennon's finals days photos?
