    1. Hi James, my name is Jim Cox. I have a letter that your Uncle Brian sent to me in 1964 saying that he was in Paris with The Beatles and then saying he was off to America with the boys. My email is margocoxpboro@yahoo.co.uk. If your interested in seeing it.

  2. James, I met your Uncle when I was an art student in London looking for work. I was introduced to him by someone I met and he asked me to draw a caricature of him. While I was sketching him we talked and I couldn’t believe it when he told me that the Beatles could walk in at any moment, sadly they didn’t! He seemed pleased with my final drawing and paid me 5 guineas, which in 1963 was a lot. I don’t know what he did with it but I still have the rough sketches that I did and I’d be happy to scan them and send them to you. My family are sick of me pointing out Brian whenever he appears in a documentary about The Beatles and saying “I met him !” I’ve always wondered what happened to him.

    1. I met Brian Sommerville at his home near Richmond North Yorkshire in around 1987. My then boyfriend used to look after Brian’s house when he was away. We used to be able to use his car too. Any information on him would be so interesting.

  5. I knew Brian when he was a barrister at law. I was a member of staff at Teesside Crown Court for 17 years. I assisted many times in the preparation and court proceedings when he appeared in cases. He was a very knowledgeable, polite and humorous person. Fond memories.

    1. I knew Brian he was a proper gent, my family used to holiday every year at his property at throstle gill at gilling. My parents were besides themselves when they heard he had died. Brian was involved in the middleham jewel court case, he had a replica made of it. A proper old school gentleman.
