Ringo signs a Rory Storm album

When Ringo's tour took him to Russia in 1998, this fan in a Let it Be T-shirt gave Ringo a Rory Storm and the Hurricanes bootleg to sign.   This CD was released in 1994 by Oriole Records.   So some lucky guy in Russia has Ringo's autograph on a bootleg CD.   I think that is really cool.

  1. I wonder how many bootlegs were autographed by the group?

  2. Reminds me of a story Tom Petty told. He was hanging out with George when someone goes and plays a bootleg CD of Beatles outtakes. George hears it and complains that they never got royalties from boots, but then picks up a guitar and starts playing along to the bootleg !!! Oh to have been there.

  3. Wait, are there recordings of Ringo's first group? are those with Ringo or after he left the band?

  4. There is a significant inaccuracy in the title and text of the post. The Rory Storm and the Hurricanes CD was given to Ringo Starr as a gift, but not for signature. Later, Ringo put his autograph on this particular photograph. I can say this for sure, since it is me who is shown in the photo, and this photo with Ringo's autograph hangs in a conspicuous place at my home.
At the time I became the winner of the Beatles competition, and this meeting with ex-Beatle was the prize.

A video (official/unedited footage) about R. Starr's visit in Moscow in August 1998 can be watched here:
