  1. What's Paul doing hanging round with David Bowie? Interesting!

  2. I'm pretty sure this is from the 1973 tour :)

  3. Hi Sara: This photo wasn't taken during the 1976 Wings Over America tour. It was taken in May 1973 during the "Red Rose Speedway" tour of the UK. How do I know? The guy standing there with Paul and Linda is an old buddy of mine, Ken Krinsky from Houston, Texas. In fact, Ken still lives in the Houston area. Back in '73, Ken was an on-air jock at a Houston radio station and, long story short, he was invited to travel on the train with Paul, Linda and Wings throughout the entire RRS tour. By the way, the beaded necklace that Ken's wearing was given to him by John Lennon in Houston in December 1971. You can see John wearing it in a few photos taken before he met and gave it to Ken. But that's an entirely different (and amazing!) story that had to do with the aforementioned December '71 trip that John and Yoko made to Houston for a Kyoko custody court hearing. Just wanted to clarify the photo for you.

    1. Thanks for the clarification, Mark! I saw a terrible copy of this photo in a collage of photos in a fan magazine of photos from the 1976 Wings Over America Tour. I didn't question it. Glad to get the story behind the photo. Very cool!

    2. Hey Sara. Ken actually sold me a few things he'd gotten while on that tour, including a photo of Wings signed by Paul, Linda, Denny L., Henry and Denny S. I also got one of the blue Red Rose Speedway frisbees that the band members flung into the audience on the tour as well as a couple of RRS buttons. Sadly, I no longer have any of those pieces. When I got that RRS button, Ken showed me numerous small white buttons with a different tour town name on each one. He said that when you wore the town button alongside the RRS button, that was your backstage pass.
