Ringo at the door

  1. I'll bet than he was NOT happy to see a fan at his door. Out of all of the Beatles, Ringo had the least tolerance for this behavior from fans. (MarkZapp)

  7. John and Yoko lived in Greenwich Village when they first moved to the U.S.
Why are we all wrong about Ringo? He very much disliked fans coming to his house, trying to meet him. Paul even commented on this shortly after Ringo imposed his no autographs announcement. (MarkZapp)

  8. What I have learned from the almost 9 years of this blog about Ringo and fans is that Ringo loved the mania of the Beatles. He loved running from the fans and the decoy cars -- the whole bit. He liked meeting fans who waited outside of EMI. However, he wanted to keep his home life private and disliked fans knocking on his door. His feelings were that if they wanted to see him, then they should see him while he is at work (EMI). Ringo also never seemed to enjoy signing autographs. I think he did it because it was expected of him

George was the most welcoming of fans at his home and would sometimes even allow girls in small groups or one on one inside his house. George did not like the mania side of things.

Paul was also more welcoming of fans at his house, until Linda arrived and he became concerned for her safety.

John's attitude depended totally on his mood that day.

  9. No one knows what those guys went through when it comes to the "mania" of Beatlemania. God knows how those people tried to keep it real when it comes to their families, raising kids away from the Beatlemania spotlight, etc. There's nothing beligerent about wanting some privacy. Like Geirge said, those guys gave their nervous systems in ways none of us can imagine. Johnny Silver.
