An online Beatles fan club for and about Beatle fans
Are you sure these are from 1968? They look like maybe they are from Spring of 1969. Either way, Happy Birthday George.(MarkZapp)
That is April 1969 though ......
These shots were taken in April 1969 - not 1968.
Also, these aren't Henry Grossman pics, they were taken for The Times (London) newspaper by John Haynes.
these brilliant snaps took my breath away and for that moment I forgot that George was no longer with us- Happy Birthday to you the exceptionally talented George Harrison.
they were taken after his drug bust. beatle55
These were definitely taken in the spring of 1969. In a photo that Apple Scruff Carol Bedford took with George at Easter 1969, George looks almost identical to this.
Well you guys all see how WRONG I am all of the time. I could have sworn that these photos were taken by Grossman. They just look like his style and I SWEAR I saw them in his book. So, since Grossman took photos in 1967-68, I just figured these were 1968 and went with that. But you all are 100% correct---they are 1969. I will change my mistake. Thank you all for continue to return even though I keep making errors.
John and Yoko's "Life With The Lions" album hanging up in the background in the last photo. Raggedy Ann Doll wearing a "Legalize Grass" button. Grass has been legal for years. I remember having to mow it! George was definitely in his back yard in 1969. Lol. The photos are all fascinating. I appreciate all of the work you put into this blog Sara.(MarkZapp)
Great photos, Sara! Please don't feel bad, we all make mistakes with photo dates. Thank you for all your efforts in keeping this one of the finest Beatle pages on the internet. Regards to all from yet another sunny, hot, Summer day in Rio. I am translating my book to English as we speak. Back to work!
