Someone shared this photo with me recently and was wanting some information about it. It was a new photo for me, and I really couldn't put a location to the photo. Can someone help us out?
Taxman is maybe as close as we get to a George / John Beatle song:
Lennon: I remember the day he called to ask for help on Taxman, one of his first songs. I threw in a few one-liners to help the song along, because that's what he asked for. He came to me because he couldn't go to Paul, because Paul wouldn't have helped him at that period. I didn't want to do it. I thought, Oh, no, don't tell me I have to work on George's stuff. It's enough doing my own and Paul's. But because I loved him and I didn't want to hurt him when he called that afternoon and said, 'Will you help me with this song?' I just sort of bit my tongue and said OK. It had been John and Paul for so long, he'd been left out because he hadn't been a songwriter up until then.
I was going to say what the first commentor said but I thought that you wanted the actual city so I said nothing. The tour started in August so it can be sometime in August or September of 1964.(MarkZapp)
Thanks Chuck! I knew it was backstage during the 1964 concert and Baltimore makes sense because there are a lot of backstage shots from Curt Gunther. Thanks for the help!
Summer tour 1964 in Sept. in one of the Stadium locker room showers.
ReplyDeleteI would agree. George still using the Ric and Lennon's hair.
Deletepriceless - George and John together
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I wish John and George would have composed a few songs together, they would have been amazing. Equal to Lennon and McCartney, in my opinion.
