I have a feeling this photo was taken by Pattie Emerson.  What do you think?

  1. I remember that shirt and those days, but I don't know who Pattie Emerson is.

    1. Hi Lizzie !!
Can I ask, whenever you saw Paul (or any of the lads) would you ask for an autograph, take a photo, or would you be happy just to say hi to him ?

    2. Hi Jonathan, since we used to see the lads almost every day in 1967 (and quite a lot in 68 and 69), sometimes we would just chat, others take photos, others ask for an autograph and sometimes all of those combined!

    3. Thanks Lizzie.
Who was the easiest Beatle to approach, and who was the scariest ?
Did you ever meet Brian Epstein ?

    1. No. The garage is at the left side, as in the photo.

  4. @ Anon - other than the layout of the house behind him, the tell tale sign is the swollen lip (from his motorcycle accident). It's on (his) left side of his upper lip.

  5. snaps like this bring back such a flood of memories of waiting to see the lads and all of their changes over the years - the good, bad and the ugly experiences with them and some of the overly possessive fans who were around over the years

  6. I always thought that maybe Paul and John had different shirts made of the same fabric as the one John wore at the May Pepper launch with the ruffled front, but this nice clear shot of Paul's proves it's not the same print. Silly, I know... but I loved that shirt of John's so much since I was a kid and always wished for a non-ruffled version of it for myself and thought, "see, Paul had one!"

    1. You are right, Colin. They had different shirts made of the same material. I wonder if these were made by The Fool or by their regular taylor.

  7. Whoever you are, anonymous, at least I know you're not talking about me: I was never overly possessive of John. I knew i was just a fan and would never be anything but that. And, luckily, I never had a bad or ugly experience with any of the lads. With the fans... that's another story.

    1. Don't you worry! It takes A LOT more than that to offend me. I am all about peace and love.

  9. That's the shirt he was wearing when he picked Jane up from the airport after she finished her tour with the Old Vic.
