Awards for Help album

so first the Beatles were presented with some sort of "Beatle bug" from who I would guess to be a fan club president (love how John is just standing there holding it in the first photo) then they were awarded gold records for the album "Help!" and after that stood around the signed autographs and did some individual interviews.    They don't look too happy in any of the photos.

  1. This ceremony took place on August 29, 1965 at the Capitol Records Tower in L.A. just before the first of the group's two Hollywood Bowl concerts. There's Bob Eubanks (the concert promoter) with them in the first and last photos, Stan Gortikov (Capitol Records executive and, years later, president of the RIAA) in the second photo and, of course, Alan Livingston (Capitol Records president) presenting the awards in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th photos.
