  1. Sara - first off, you have a great site full of amazing stuff and next, have been reading some of the past fan experiences on the blog and as one who has seen the lads in the past in concert & met them in person waiting around, and been a part of the entire Beatle experience since 1964 , am still appalled when reading at certain people I knew who felt the Beatles were their personal property, were rude to other fans not wanting anyone else there, pretty much stalked them not caring about their privacy as a small conversation, photo & autograph was not enough, and come off like the lads became really personal friends which is really only fantasy in their minds. I met a woman recently also about 60 years old who had just seen Ringo for the first time in concert -she has been a Beatles fan forever too, but never having seen them outside of film and was so thrilled to see Ringo going on how great he was. It was a pleasure sharing with her without the nonsense.

  3. I have never, ever, in my almost 64 years of age felt I was anything vaguely similar to a friend of any of The Beatles. They were nice to me, but I expect a lot more of my real friends than leaving me out in the snow until 4:00am waiting for them... I am a fan, always have been, always will be. Yes, some of the British girls could be pretty nasty, think they owned the boys and be quite rude to the rest of us. Imagine me, being from Brazil! I was once punched on the face by one of them and told "Go home, you nigger!". That was not a pleasant experience, as you can imagine. I always made friends with the foreign girls (and am of many of them to this day). I told them how to get to places, the different studios, their homes. After all these years, I don't hold any grudges against those girls who were mean to me: we were kids. I am always extremely happy when one of my friends - real life or online - gets anywhere near Paul or Ringo. I have helped Brazilian friends get near them more than once, though I haven's been able to speak to Paul since 1990 - nobody lets me anywhere near him. Last year when Paul was in São Paulo I suggested the producers to use a friend of mine to interview him and they accepted my suggestion. My friend, a diehard Paul fan who has written a great book about him in our language, Portuguese, got to interview him on the phone for his radio station. He was in heaven, as you can imagine. It brought tears to my eyes. It felt so wonderful to see how happy he was, and the great questions he asked Paul - not your usual stupid ones, but coming from a real fan. For me, being a Beatle fan has always been about sharing. But... on the subject of this photo: it was quite exciting when those doors were flung open like that, you never knew who you would see!
