Unseen Atlantic City Press Conference photos

When the Beatles came to Atlantic City, New Jersey on August 30, 1964, they were set to do their press conference.  The conference was set to take place at the Conventional Hall, where the Beatles were performing that night.   There was a lack of proper security from the hotel to the hall  and Ringo was almost hurt by fans.   But they did make it in one piece to the Convention Hall for the press conference.   The press conference only lasted 15 minutes (most press conferences lasted 30 minutes) and only about 70 people were allowed inside.   One of those people allowed inside the quick press conference was the father of Cameron Cloutier who was working as a reporter at the time.    He took some great photographs of our favorite fabs.  These photos remained unseen until his wife pulled them out of storage a few years ago.   Cameron published them on his blog, Obnixious and Anonymous.

In doing research for this topic this past year, I discovered the photos and contacted Cameron and asked him if I could share his photos with all of you and he kindly agreed!!!   So I hope you all enjoy these amazing photographs as much as I do.   A big thank you to Cameron for sharing this great photos with the Beatles community.

I am posting the copyright notice that is on Cameron's blog.

  1. I don't understand how these are unseen. I've seen these photos like hundreds of times the past few years. I just saw them on Google that led to an unrelated link.

You sure they're unseen, Sara? Or are you giving false info again.

    1. I had never seen these exact photos before. Can you please let me know where you found them through google? I will contact Cameron again tonight and let him know that his photos aren't where they should be if needed.

    4. When you put in "Beatles press conference" thought google images, on the 21st line there is the photo with George. It is from Cameron's blog (which is linked in this post). I cannot find these photos anywhere else. So unless you happen to be a visitor of his blog or go stomping around google under the "Beatles press conference" label then you have never seen these photos. They have not been published anywhere. I do not think anyone has seen them 100's of times. I do not want to sound like I am high and mighty, because I am not. But I wonder at times if jealousy is what leads people to post these type of anonymous comments. We ARE all on the same team, right Beatle fans?????

  2. Not when you accuse people of false accusations and you must not be looking good enough. There's reasons people go anon. Not everybody likes their name being associated with the high and might lying Sara.

    1. Wow...you sure are mean. So you aren't going to help me out and tell me where else you saw these photos? So Cameron, who owns the copyright won't know? Since this person isn't helping, can someone else help me out here?

    2. Sara you are doing well here. Don't let this mean person get to you, you don't deserve it. Some people say mean things for a reaction. Well done you for posting these comments - I wouldn't have! Keep up the great work that you do. Take care.

  3. Obviously that person needs to crawl back under their rock. The fact that they would rather call you names than actually prove their point and help speaks volumes about the kind of person they are. Don't give it a second thought Sara!! We love you and all you do!! - Cindy

  4. Sara, I've never seen these pictures, don't listen to people like this. Maybe you should give him his money back!!!

It doesn't matter WHAT you do, how nice you are to people, how kind and how decent, and how generous......there are going to half-wits crawling out of the slime like this one.

I don't blame him, though, for his idiocy; I blame his mother. Obviously she did a really awful job, just goes to show you, not everyone should have babies.

(you're giving us this amazing ride through 1964, and all the beasts of the internet come 'round, go figure.....) (thanks, Sara, I am enjoying the HECK out of these posts!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!!!)

  5. This post has finally allowed me to date a photo I haven't been able to date for a couple years (taken by a different photographer more to the left of this one in the same room, it would seem. It was a press conference, after all). I love your blog and site both for the photos, and the way they often help my obsessiveness with ordering and dating photos in my collection. I'd weigh in on how uncalled for the troll's attack was too, but they are best ignored. At least it brought in the love a little in response, as even grateful folks like me don't show it often enough to folks like you whose blogs enhance pretty much every day
